I met up with Jon and Kristine on sweltering day at Salvage One, where they’ll be getting married early next year. We strolled inside and out of the space and stumbled upon a piano, where Jon showed off some of his ivory tickling talents. Every corner of Salvage is like a photographer’s dream and Jon and Kristine are awesome to hang with and shoot. I’m looking forward to the wedding in a few months!

SPITTING MACHINES

Mark Porter recently had an installation of his newest kinetic sculptures at The Mission Gallery on Chicago Ave. As I walked down the basement steps of the gallery, a motion sensor woke the machines up and they immediately started shaking, rattling and spitting up reddish hues of foamy stuff all over the place. Filming of The Poisoner has come to an end. I already miss being able to pace around a film set with a camera. Watch for it to hit a big screen a few months from now. Meanwhile feast your eyes on some of Chirs Hefner’s other work here: http://cmhefner.com/.

This film was made pretty intimately. I’m pretty sure that most of the cast and crew are pictured here.

Andrew Morgan of Little Cabin Films handled the cinematography. His lighting expertise made it pretty easy for me to simply walk around the set and snap some good looking photos.

The idea of being a traveling storm chaser/photographer has always appealed to me. Unfortunately, the thought of being alone in the middle of some vast Nowheresville while twisters are a twistin’ and bolts are cracklin’ ’round my head is awfully terrifying! So…. Here’s a shot that I took while cowering and trembling beneath the window of mi casa.
